Steady does not sell your personal data. Your financial information stays private and is only used to power your experience in the app.
01 — Overview
Steady ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user of the Steady app.
02 — Data We Collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google Sign-In.
Budget & financial data
Budget entries, income, expenses, and savings goals that you create in the app. This data is yours — we store it solely to provide the service.
Loyalty card data
Card numbers, store names, and balances for loyalty cards you save in the app.
Location
Approximate location is used optionally to show relevant weather greetings. It is never stored or shared.
Camera
Camera access is used only to scan loyalty card barcodes. No images are captured or stored.
Diagnostics
Anonymous crash reports are collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. No personally identifiable financial data is included in crash reports.
03 — How We Use Your Data
- To sync your budget and loyalty card data across your devices
- To personalise your experience (currency formatting, payday reminders)
- To improve app reliability through crash diagnostics
We never sell your data to advertisers or third parties.
04 — Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Local data is stored on your device using standard platform storage.
05 — Your Rights
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account within the app. Once deleted, your data is permanently removed from our servers and cannot be recovered.
06 — Third-Party Services
Steady uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database, crash reporting
- Google Sign-In — account authentication
- Open-Meteo — public weather API (no personal data sent)
07 — Children's Privacy
Steady is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
08 — Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Steady after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
